Click Bank also offers a free affiliate program that allows you to redirect visitors from your website to any one thousands of Click Bank merchants.

Here are some of the benefits for Click Bank Affiliates:

1. Credit card processing system, without your need for a merchant account or sales page. This is important. People all over the world can purchase the products you have chosen to feature. And since customers know it is easy, they don’t worry if your site is in Helsinki and they are living in Ankara.

2. Linking products from your site is easy. You simply cut and paste the code of the product you are selling onto a landing page. A landing page is a sales page designed to make visitors want to buy the product or learn more about it. Clicking the product link generally takes customers to the merchant’s landing page. Make sure your page doesn’t replicate the seller’s.

3. Click Bank offers analytic tools to help you determine the most profitable selling items in several categories.

4. Although not well known, Click Bank Hot Shots invites you to review products. Simply go to ClickBank Hot Shots and select one of the new featured products. Buy it. Try it out. Then submit your review. You cannot sign up to be a Click Bank Hot Shot. But when you follow the product link from Hot Shots page above, your customer information you provide the merchant at the time of your purchase will allow Click Bank to email an invitation to you – usually within two hours.

Follow the link in the email to register with them so you can submit and be paid for your review. (Review payments are direct deposited into your PayPal account.

Two other factors determine whether you will be paid: you cannot return the product and your review must be submitted within 60 days.

5. At Click Bank Top Sites you can use your Click Bank affiliate account to sign up for a free Click Bank Mall. Or for $49.95 you can run a “pro” mall.

Some downsides to Click Bank Affiliation

This means there is a huge number of Click Bank affiliates. When your visitor is a Click Bank affiliate and sees your affiliate link (called a hoplink) one reviewer claims that visiting affiliate will bypass your site to get to the merchant directly. Worse, some affiliates have actually replaced another’s affiliate hoplink with their own in their browser!

To get around problems like these Click Bank provides tools to help you hide your affiliate status, but I’m not sure how that would help you from being cheated.

Instead, I recommend a different free alternative method of disguising affiliate links called iFrame. The download and complete installation tutorial is available at this site.

• It takes a lot of hunting to find a professional-looking e-book at Click Bank. And when your customer leaves your site to make their purchase, they often land on garish websites. You have to ask yourself, will my reputation for professionalism and trustworthiness be hurt when my visitor reaches the merchant site and sees headlines screaming: Make a 6-figure Income in 30 Days With My Secret Formula!

So far I’ve been able to resist the temptation.

However, I found an e-book review on Caroline Middlebrook’s much-admired site. Titled Your First ClickBank Sale, I thought it might be appropriate to mention. You can decide if this book is for you after you read Caroline's review.

• Finally, virtually every self-made millionaire guru got his start with Click Bank. (Hey! Didn’t you say that was a good thing?) That means they sold an e-book or e-report and gave as much as 75% of the sales price to affiliates.

That also means the book or report you purchase could be full of fluff and the real product is featured as an upsell that you are invited to purchase on top of the price of the information product you just bought.

Programmers also use Click Bank to sell software. Some of that software is loaded with spyware and takes an expert to get off your computer if you aren’t a tech whiz.
